Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator
Michelle was born and raised here in Fort McMurray. She is a wife and mother to two boys who were also both born in the NLRHC. She has a degree in Education and currently runs a day home so she can be more present before and after school for her own children. She has been around the doula association since 2011 and decided to take the birth doula training when it was offered in 2013. She completed her training through Birth Rhythms in May of that year. She feels that it is very important to help moms and their partners become fully informed so that when it is time for baby to arrive they can make the best decisions for their optimal birth experience. The birth of your child will be life changing and that birth experience will be remembered by the family forever. By balancing information about birth options with the family’s specific desires and needs, all women can have an empowered and balanced birth. Recently, Michelle has also completed her Postpartum Doula Training and is now offering this service to families in the community.
Michelle helps to teach the free monthly prenatal series because she is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and encourages families to learn about evidenced based information so they can make informed decisions.
